Other: 1953 Backup Lights

1953 Studebaker. Backup lights. Is there an easy way to tell the difference between C:K backup lights and sedan backup lights?

Yes, a much sharper/steeper angle at the base to fit the C and K Decklid than the Sedan with the more straight up/down rear angle.

This is the more blunt shape of the Sedan Decklid:


Of course they mount about level with this Trunk Handle on a '54/'55, even though the '53 Handle is at a slightly different height.

Backup lights or tail light assembly? I don't think they came with "back up" lights nor were they an accessory.

All 1947 to 1966 Stude. Cars had backup lights Optional or Standard on later model upper level cars.
No Tail Lights were mentioned here.

Backup lights were available but not sure if they were a factory installed option. I don't see why not. I have seen them in the 53 acc cataloged so they were available as an add-on. My 1953 has the backup lights with the Tri Star lenses. My car is an early 53 with several Tri Star emblems. Ironically they do not show on my line sheet as being factory installed however they are the early style.
