Electrical: License plate break away

can anyone tell me when the license plateswing bracket can into play on studebaker, found 2 in a stash of parts in a old c-cab collector.

The Truck Parts Catalog would tell us exactly what year, but I have seen these on about 1956 to 1962 P1 Fendered Box Trucks both the Left License Plate/Tail Light side and the Right Tail Light without the Lic. bracket.
