  • Speedo / Tach / Gauges: Vacuum hose

I’m stumped! While replacing some instrument bulbs on my 62 Hawk I came across what appears to be a vacuum hose. I can’t find anything it connects to. Wipers are electric. Wondering if it could be remnants of long missing window washer??? Anyone have any ideas.

Are there signs that there were extra Gauges under the dash ?

There COULD have been a "Motor Minder" or same thing, Vacuum Gauge somewhere.
The hose connected to the plugged Hole over the # 5 & 7 Intake Manifold Ports.

1962 Studebaker Windshield Washers did not use vacuum, but there were small hoses for the Air Bellows Pump to pressurize the washer.
A clue would be if it is through the Firewall way left, above the floor Dimmer Switch.

Can you trace it back to see where it is attached to the intake manifold. Maybe for an accessory vacuum gage, I have one with the vacuum hose passing through the instrument Pannell. If I sold the car I would pull the gage and leave the hose.

That may be what happened . Hose isn’t connected on either end.

It could be something with the washer pump as I have a mechanical foot pump on left side. I’ll check on that..,thanks
