  • Speedo / Tach / Gauges: Photo: Oil pressure gauge hard line

With the engine now running on my '62 Hawk I'm at the stage of fitting the gauges. I've found the line for the oil pressure gauge in a 'box of bits' and it seems intact. I have sourced a new flexible line, heeding good advice from elsewhere on this forum.
However I'm struggling to find a natural path for the hard line to run across the firewall and into the cabin.
Does anyone have photos of the path and position of the line, specifically in relation to the engine side of the firewall, wiring loom, distributor, etc.? I'm sure I could bend this one up and make it fit, but it would be nice to see how it is supposed to run.
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, none of my Hawk Engine compartment Photos (Lots) were taken to show that line.
It would take a Light colored Engine Compartment for the Black Rubber covered Copper Line to show, and the Part you want to see is behind the Battery.

I do know there is a Clamp on it to the Firewall somewhere near the center, and a small braided Copper Ground Strap was connected there where no rubber covering is, to Ground it to reduce Radio noise when a Radio was correctly Dealer or Factory installed.
However, I have Never seen one Coiled like that.
I understand Why; to prevent "Hydraulic Rap" but it must be very rare that would be done.

Thanks StudeRich, I wasn't aware that it should have a clamp and earth strap. No, I've not found many useful photos on the internet.

Here are a couple pix of my '64 Hawk, which, AFAIK, is original. There are two clamps. The one near where the pipe enters the cabin is held on with a screw.

Thanks Dwight, that's excellent. I don't know why mine has a coiled section but I guess it doesn't matter too much, so long as I can clamp it properly and pass it through the firewall in the correct place. Cheers.
