Not meaning to question someone's taste, but all 1964 Avantis used solid black carpet. I personally prefer the salt & pepper carpets, but I have 2 '64 Avantis

Also, there are issues with Rene -- see other posts.

Dwight, indeed my '64 has solid black, and I always disliked it, hence my desire for faun and black. Yes I am aware of issues with Rene, like waiting for well over one year for products;-(

Mike Baker runs a restoration shop in Greenfield, IN. I have seen his contact info in the Avanti magazine. If you are not a member of AOAI I will dig it out.

Yes I saw the carpet Mike had for sale at South Bend. It looked fantastic! If my Dad hadn't replaced the carpet before he gave me the car I would certainly think of the salt and pepper myself as it would brighten up the black interior. I want to keep the car as original as possible though ( R 5636 ).

Rob, any chance you know what the cost is, and if he can make up a set for a '64 as opposed to a '63?

I didn't see the price. I believe they are being done by the folks at Endurance Products. Just call him at the number listed above. You might also try him at avantirestorationservice.com.

I understand that Bob Ziff in Pa is also selling the carpet, his prices are just about $700.00. But the carpet for the '64 is not identical to the '63, especially around the front seats.
