On my older engines I have been using this GM product:
I can only assume it is contributing to the fact I have had no problems.

Jack; If the government thinks we'll all perish of carbon poisoning, it is not much of a stretch to imagine that they also fear that we could succumb to potassium poisoning. They are not going to put something in the gas to prevent valve and seat wear when it is no longer needed. And they don't give away anything "for free" Beware of anything that won't reveal its ingredients! Have to agree with you: they are likely all worthless. bezhawk; You are right!! Someone cobbled that head together. It has the wrong valves and the wrong springs. Needs to replace with correct ones. Isn't it amazing the strange work you can find in an old car?

        You are indeed correct.
I feel sorry for the poor soul who after I am long gone, tries to figure out the valve train in my R4 clone. I used Z28 double springs/retainers etc. from Iskenderian and both intake and exhaust valves heavily modified from a Ford 406 CID. It does however, flow excellently with the dual quads even though it is only 304.5 CID.
