  • Steering: Saginaw Steering Gear Repair

I may be in the wrong forum but I wanted to post this tip on finding repairs for Saginaw Steering Products. My Olds/T-Bird friend has been searching for just such an outfit and found this one in our backyard.

Turn One manufactures high performance power steering components for street and race vehicles. Drive confidently with performance products!

If you read the history of the business you'll see why I'm posting here. It was started by a SSG engineer and do a ton of business with NASCAR. I don't how they handle mail-in business but they did an outstanding job on his 57 Olds 88 box. He has used Lares before and likes TurnOne a lot.

Posting as a separate item so it will show up in searches in the future.

So maybe you are referring to POWER Steering Boxes?

My thought is they will work on anything produced by Saginaw Steering and other manufactures if they can get the parts. So why power only?

Obviously the Saginaw Power Steering Box is the one everyone who has one may need help repairing, since they are THE most complicated hard to work on, and Very hard to find Parts for Steering Gear, so IF they do them, that could help someone.

However I did search their "Rebuild" search link, and nothing came up on 'Saginaw Power Steering Box", so it may take a call if available,

Plus, there are Very few Saginaw Manual Steering Gear Boxes still in use, mostly just Pre-1956 Champions and the later '61-'66 Lark Recirculating Ball Saginaw Boxes rarely need anything and Parts are available.

The 57 Olds 88 SSG box was a power steering box that Rod had rebuilt so they do them. I don't know the complexity differences but the post was aimed a providing a compete source of repair for anyone needing outside skills regardless of what Saginaw unit needed repair. Not everyone can/wants to tear into their steering gear.
