  • Other: Late model radio identification

Back in July, 2006 JDP made a post of radio identification by accessory part numbers for given vehicles.
I printed it at that time and just today came across it, in the process of sorting and recycling the mounds of what I've accumulated.
I checked to see if I could pull up the original post from a search of the archives. Not in my ability.
So I've scanned what I printed at that time.

I thought, in the intervening fifteen years, assuming the list is valid, bringing it back to light may be of some value to current owners/restorers.

    Were they Delco? Or Philco?

They would all be Delco's since the last Philco's were the 6 Volt 1955's.
That IS quite a List !

You are missing the 1956 and 1957's though, if those years are correct.

It appears that all without: "Manual Tune" would be the Premium Push Button Model, prior to the Partial and Full Transistor chassis they would be 8 Tube.

I can even add a few, there are a WHOLE Lot (10 from '58-'61) Listed in the 1961 "Book F", Parts and Accessories Price List, but I can't add those because they are not "Radios", they are Radios with various types of Antennas, as an AC Kit.

    AC-2971 Push Button Radio ... 2E, 3E, 4E Trucks and 5E & 6E "C" Cab Trucks. (these are UNDER Dash Units)

    AC-2981 Signal Seeker Radio (P/B) ... 1958 to 1960 Cars and 1960 "T" Cab Trucks.

Would the AC-2748 I penciled in be correct for the '56-'57 Hawks?

I don't know Brad about AC-2748 it is not a Radio Kit.
I never read that, thought it was chicken scratch or Chinese!
