I am having difficulty discovering how to remove the windshield wiper arm from its post so that I can begin to investigate why my 1955 Studebaker President Speedster windshield wipers are not working . Help me, please, or refer me to someplace where I may get answers. Thank you.

If you look closely there is a tiny stainless spring 'lip' that keeps the arm from sliding up off the pivot.
Just the right amount of prying will overcome that little retention design.Brad Johnson,

Robert Short , here is what you've got to move - this little tab that grips a groove in the wiper post:
Lisle makes a tool specifically for this, but I've done it using a right-angle awl:
You just have to be certain you're pulling on the tab, not on the post, which is pot metal and can be damaged pretty easily.
A little leverage from the other side while you're pulling the tab and it pops off easily.
