  • Fuel System: How to identify Carter vs Airtex fuel pump

Well, the title says it all. A friend is looking for a rebuild kit for a 289 fuel pump, but it has no markings. How do you identify which it is?

A Carter fuel pump should have the name on it.

Try one of many of these Strings here about V8 Fuel Pumps to Identify them, this is probably the Best One since ALL are shown:

Both AC and CARTER will have there name on them. Carters have the stamped steel arms, AC as well as AC copies will all have laminated arms.
