M-Webb, I could not agree more. Anyone contemplating rebuild, or major repair, of their Stude V8 will find a treasure trove in Jim and Richard's videos. Jim is the real deal, and forgot more about Stude motors than most of us will ever know. Following his video tutelage, to the letter, is sure to produce good outcome by anyone willing to put the work in. I cannot think of a better resource to refer anyone to. Jim and Richard knocked it out of the ballpark with their videos, and we are all Blessed to have both those guys in our SDC.

I also would like to thank Jim, and many of you who also post pictures and questions on your engine rebuilds. I've watched all of Jims videos twice now and most likely will again. Joe Hall and M-Webb, your recent pictures and reports have been very helpful. My 63R-1220 is a project. Currently the engine is in the shop getting machined and trued up. I went with a shop in Trenton NJ, recommended by Bob Ziff from Avanti Parts out of Morrisville Pa. I'm also replacing the transmission with a 700R-4 from Jon Myers shop. In any case, thanks and when I get the engine back and start to work on it, I'm sure to reach out for your advice. I own two Avanti's, the 63R-1220 and R-5335 (64 R1 modified to an R2+ by prior owners).
