Brakes: 1960 Lark brake booster install

As i am upgrading the brakes on my Lark thought it would be a good time to fit a brake booster. I have one complete with the hanging pedal but will need to do some fire wall modifications to fit it . I believe later Larks have a different fire wall so looks a bit tricky on mine , just curious if anyone has fitted one on a 1960 Lark and have any photos of the modifications they did.

The '61 Lark I had , had the master on the firewall; so adding a power booster is just a matter of putting it between the firewall and the master. I have put both power and no power masters on the firewall of C/K 's, from scratch, which had the master under the floor. From what you have said, I'd think it would be a simple matter of drillng the appropriate holes to mount the unit you have and simple plumbing. There's way more room under/behind a Lark dash than a C/K.

I guess the firewall on a 61 is flat ? On my photo you can see the 3 bolts where the regulator was mounted then it steps down so i have to make it flat as the mounting would have to be in between where the step is. Only way to do this would be to fabricate a mounting piece following the engine bay side or the interior, i think it would mount better following the engine bay side .I was just curious how others have done it , i assume someone has fitted a master cylinder on the firewall of a 60 Lark.

You might want to think about finding an 8E Champ pickup that is a parts truck and take everything you need off of it. Those trucks had swinging pedals so the master was mounted on firewall. Along with the bracket for the pedals, I think there was also a plate that stengthened the firewall. Photo is of one of those truck's firewalls from the engine side. Good luck.
