  • Master Cylinder Identity

This master cylinder was on my 64 Commander non-power brake car. It has a 1" bore. Does anybody recognize it as a substitute replacement.

I bought one of those many many years ago to put on my '63 wagon. It has both reservoirs the same size. IF IRC...(big IF)... it was for a late 60's Rambler Ambassador..

Don't even try to find adapters for the large fittings that Stude used on their lines... just re-bend some new tubing! It will be ALOT less frustrating...

I believe the '63's were the ones with the LARGE fittings, on a '64 you will be able to bolt the AMC unit on, IF you can still find one! They are starting to be too old to be in stock lately.

        Claude,
        Try NAPA # 36237, Auto Zone # NM1373, Advance # 11373, A1 Cardone 10-1292
I "prefer" the NAPA parts as I've had NO problem with those.

IF you just have to have an identical one... look for a listing for an AMC or Jeep with NON-POWER 4-wheel DRUM brakes. 99% of the AMC/Jeep listings are for Front DISC/Rear DRUM.

Here it is from the NAPA Site
