  • Lark AM radio

    Hi everyone,

I would like to install a factory AM radio in my 1961 4 door lark 8 regal. All I see is a green wire hanging out the back, and no spot for a antennia or speaker to hook up. Can someone tell me how to do this.BTW the radio I have is nice 1962 lark radio. I know it will work, but does anyone in the Everett WA. area have a complete 1961 lark radio they would like to trade?

Dylan - You might try StudeRich in Ferndale. www.studebakersnorthwest.com/
You sure there's not a hole in a rear corner for an antenna plug? Your radio probably has three flat connectors on the bottom of the rear. Lower right as you face the back of the radio. One is for 12v and the other two should be for the speaker. I can crawl under my dash and let you know which is which. This is a Delco, right?

Yes it is a Delco and it has the antennia spot as you said, didn't notice it before. But were you say there is 3 flat connectors there is only 2.

If your radio still has the paper with the model number glued to the side, you might do a web search to find a schematic. You might take the radio to a repair shop (good luck finding one, anymore) and if the guy is old enough to know the model, he could tell you what goes where.
