My fuel pump on my 51 commander started to leak oil out of the vent . So I orderd a rebuid kit and when it came from Studebaker International there was no oil seal in the rebuild kit. So I called them and they would send me one free of charge but it would not be in for a couple of weeks. I pluged the vent and the oil leak has stopped . We are entured in the Newport Hill climb. We have about a 125 mile drive down to it. I think it would be allright to drive it that way untill the new seal comes in. I know it will allow oil to come against the bottom of the diafram but I thought for a short term it would be OK. Any thoughts?

The increased load on the diaphragm will lead to a premature failure.

If you get gas in your oil you can say by-by to your engine!
