Rocker Panels

Would anyone give a step by step R&R on rocker panels for my 66 Daytona 2 door. Im gonna use a pair of NOS 4door parts. I've already surmized I'll have to remove the weatherstrip channel from the rear portion and take roughly 4 inches from the length, so I need a little guidance on the rest. Also the best way to cut and weld for the length. Looks like the best place is where the 4door posts connect to the rocker.

No idea on what all was done, but my granddad replaced the rockers on my Daytona nearly 20 years ago, using rockers from a 4 door. It can be done.
