  • Steering: Eaton power steering pump

Stude owners with Eaton power steering systems. Cardone has NEW Eaton style power steering pumps available. I went to refurbish mine and it had been run dry and was beyond renewing with just seals. This is a picture of my new Cardone pump with my old reservoir and brackets, plus a new pulley from studebakerparts.com

It's hard to tell if the actual Pump less added details, looks the same as the Original Eaton Pump, but if it works that's a good thing.

Well I have not run it yet but it appears to exactly the same and a perfect fit. I decided to take a chance on it from what I saw on the website. These were used by other auto makers of the time and the comments reflected happy Ford and AMC owners.

It's a vane type pump, not the original roller type. The bosses on the back interfere with the water manifold,(on Avantis) preventing the stock length belt from being able to tighten. The internals are totally different, so you cant use internals in your old pump case. BTDT.

          4 different Eaton P/S pumps used on 1953/64 Fords and 1965 Mustang w/a generator: 900-3A674 .. 900-3A674-AC .. 1100-3A674 .. 1100-3A674-AC

Some of these have the Ford part number stamped on a large bolt head at the front of the pump.

And because they are common to Mustangs, seal kits for the original units as used on Studebaker should still be available. (I haven't rebuilt one for years.)

They were used on forlifts, and other small equipment, as well. Sorry, but no part numbers to back that up.
