    Got tired of messing with SteelTeck kit and got one from Meyers. Compared both, Teck unit adapter will work, trimmed off a lot of useless metal to make it lighter. Found by trial and error that Teck unit uses a starter from 1972-76 Jeep CJ5 4.2 L engine. Adapter for flexplate has to have snout trimmed off so nuts for crank bolts can be accessed with socket to torque them. Both kits use same flexplate, with very simular spacer/adapter to crank. Will use Teck unit on 61 Lark of Grandson's

      Agree, the Steel-Tech GM adapter plate is an ugly baby, but it can be made to work. I've been running one in my Avanti since forever.

      FWIW, David Levesque was an acolyte of Dick Datson and we owe them both a debt of gratitude for making some parts, however crude, and keeping the Studebaker Performance flame alight when few others were there to help.
