Shouldn't be to hard to find. Didn't Studebaker use the same one for years, just some have bushings and others bearings? Either will interchange as far as I know. Try any of the vendors, they should have rebuild kits for yours.

The reason for a new used one is to have it shortened. I'm in FL, and I want to have it done and ready to install when I get back to NY...

Check with Steven Allens Studebaker, he has a Stude salvage yard besides a huge warehouse of parts. Luck Doofus

While steering arms may be the same, aren't there two bell cranks? One for manual/Saginaw PS and one for the later Bendix linkage assist PS?

Yes, the Bendix one has an extra arm. The rest of the arm is the same. -Jim

Jack, There 3 different types. The 2 Torrington bearing ones. The later Avanti's with bronze bushings and the ones I build that are all needle bearings.

The arraingments to purchase the Steering Arm only, for the bell crank, fell through. So I'm looking again for a steering arm to fit a 56 Hawk...

This is a bell crank (bell cranks are used to change direction of motion). Not sure of your objective, but I don't think you want to shorten the bell crank or the pitman arm.

I guess my response to your private message wasn’t good enough. Good luck.
