My 53' book says .25 gap. I'm installing Champion RJ8C in the 245 engine. Out of the box they are at least .30+. Which is it ?? Book or box ??

If your ignition system is up to snuff, you will get a hotter spark @ .030 than .025.
I would split the difference and go with .028Bez Auto Alchemy

I set the gap at .030 on the flat head engine spark plugs which works well. The smaller gap could be useful in a colder climate to aid in starting which in most cases is not an issue with an old Studebaker engine. Bud
