  • 48 champion trans color?????

    I am going to be changing my reg 3speed trans to a overdrive trans iam having the trans cleaned and boiled and painted what is the correct color the trans would have been new?

    My understanding is that in that period, (sometime before WWII to 53 or 4) they were all painted oil green. It's the same color that Parcel Post trucks (I think) used to be painted. A dark olive green.

      All 1947 to 1954 Studebaker car and truck engines were painted Olive Green (Old Bell Telephone Co. or Packard Green) complete with Bellhousings and Transmissions installed. Available at Studebaker Vendors.
