  • Russ Haggen

Last December good friend Russ Haggen passed away. Russ and his wife Hazel have had a huge impact on all things Studebaker for over sixty years. Russ was a collector and restorer who got his start while in High School. He did it all, but I guess he would have been best known for his exceptional paint work. During the 2000's he expanded his $2000 paint jobs to the general Studebaker community. His paint jobs included all rust repair, body work and paint and he could turn one out about every month! Who does that? Sadly a stroke left him unable to continue with his work, but it didn't stop the two of them from going to events across the country. We have all lost a good friend may he rest in peace.

Made me think of the George Jones song "Who's going to fill their shoes?"

Russ's life was no bed of roses. I always learned something in his presence. Sad to have lost another gentle soul who did so much for many.
