DAVENPORT-Alvin Leroy Elmore, 77, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022. Services were Monday, November 28, 2022 at The Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Visitation was Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at the mortuary with a Masonic Service at 4 pm followed by an OES Service. His final resting place is in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to The Greyhound Rescue Center, Camp Courageous, or to the Eastern Star ESTARL Fund.
Alvin was born in Davenport on December 27, 1944. He was the son of Alvin A. and Dora (Hoke) Elmore. He was united in marriage to Marie E. Prachar on June 19, 1965 in Davenport.
He obtained an apprenticeship as a Tool & Die maker at Reynolds Engineering and retired from Case IH in East Moline after over 30 years of service.
Alvin was a long-time member of the SDC, and was very active in the Big 6 River Bend Chapter in the Quad Cities. He and Marie traveled far and wide to meets in their 1939 Champion Coupe, stopping at garage sales and antique stores along the way.
