David worked with me a year ago on a steering wheel, the last one they made. It was an honor getting to know him.

Never met Dave but enjoyed doing business with Shrock Bros. since they were a top notch outfit.

This is very sad news.. Brad, thanks for posting.

My favorite Studebaker trip to date was when we purchased Dave and Tom’s NOS parts inventory in 2018. The stash filled the entire attic of their shop and it took us a couple of days to get it emptied out.

It was worth it just to be able to hang out with those guys. I knew that Dave was no longer making any toys, but I asked if he’d make an exception for me. At the time I owned a black cherry ‘51 Land Cruiser so that’s the toy he made.

Every time he’d make a little progress on the car, he’d walk over and show me the next step and explain the process.

He and Tom dedicated a good chunk of their lives to the Studebaker hobby and we’re all a little better off because of it.

Dave was a class act. I’m happy that I got to know him.

I visited the Shrock Brothers facility several times starting in 1982 and Dave and Tom were always very welcoming and accomodating. I last saw and visited with the brothers at Reedsville 2018. This is sad news indeed. R.I.P. Dave.
