Robert Kyvik by Mike Jones
My Uncle was Robert (Bob) Kyvik of Dayton, Ohio. He passed away on August 13, 2022. At the time he had been a member of the SDC for fifty years. In addition to being a dedicated Studebaker enthusiast he was the father of a daughter and a son and has two grandchildren he was very fond of.
He was a graduate of Purdue University and spent a career working at Dayton Power and Light.
My Uncle was a Studebaker Museum Trustee from 2001 to 2003 and a continuous contributor to the Museum’s building campaign and it’s Foundation.
He owned a 1964 Avanti, a 1949 2-door Champion and 1955 Studebaker long bed truck. I am very proud to say my wife and I owned the Avanti for more than eleven years accumulating a great number of awards. It was as a result of my Uncle’s interest in Studebakers that I became and enthusiast myself.
Bob was a member of the Tri-State Chapter of the SDC. His telephone conversations and emails will be greatly missed by myself. He was an incredible man.
