Wally Mitchell, our friend and fellow SDC Member, passed away on July 2nd, just a few weeks shy of his 97th birthday. Wally was a long time SDC Member and a Charter/Founding Member of the local NEMC (Northeastern Michigan Chapter). He & wife Doris were active members for many years, attending many of the chapter's events in their 1950 Studebaker Commander 4-door sedan. The Mitchells resided in Frankenmuth, a Bavarian themed city. With Wally's assistance, the NEMC hosted the 2012 SDC Crossroads Zone Meet there. After Doris's passing in 2017, Wally stayed active in club activities for a few more years. The past two years Wally was living in a Senior Facility, near a daughter, in Jackson, MI. He was still contributing to the club by assisting in being a proof reader of the NEMC's newsletter, the award winning Egbert Express. Wally will certainly be missed by all who knew him. He was a real gentleman and a friend.
