Yvon Grondin of Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada died on May 18, 2022 at the age of 94. He had been a proud and very successful Studebaker dealer from 1960 to 1966, with the name Garage Grondin Inc. However, he did not feel that the Studebakers with GM engines were "real" Studebakers. After Studebaker stopped building cars, he became a Ford dealer. Even then, his Studebaker tow truck remained in service.
His nephew, Alain Grondin, describes him as a funny, charming and handsome man, who could sell cars to the ladies like hot buns. With Alain's assistance, I wrote articles on Mr. Grondin and his business for "Turning Wheels" and for the Canadian publication "Old Autos" a few years ago.
