Hi everyone, This has taken me far too long to post this but I made a promise to my dad that I would post this. My dad, Bruce MacLean, passed away December 2nd 2020 after a 2 year battle with cancer at the age of 74.
He was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club since the early 70's and a member of the Manitoba Buffalo and Ontario Chapters. He made made several life long Studebaker friends along the way. He thoroughly enjoyed his club membership and read every edition of Turning Wheels inside out. He was known on the Studebaker Drivers Club Forum as T-CAB. He enjoyed participating on the forum and asking questions. Even now I see some of my dads old posts on the forum and it helps me make decisions on how to finish certain parts of the restoration. It's like he's reaching out from the beyond to help me.
I want to thank everyone who over the years who has participated in organizing things for the club. This includes the International meets, Turning Wheels, chapter meetings, car shows, news letters. These things brought my dad so much joy over the years and I can't thank the club enough for this.
We made trips to several International meets including South Bend in 1983, Rapid City South Dakota, RedWing Minnesota, and South Bend in 2007. I remember being 8 years old and driving from Winnipeg to South Bend in the old 1962 red truck. My dad had a truck bed cap, seat, seat belts, and a roll bar installed so us kids rode in the back. Those were the days, can't do that sort of thing now.
My dad owned a few Studebakers and a few other ones that my mom didn't know about (Don't tell Nancy! His famous saying.) These include 1962 Champ, 1964 4 door Daytona, 2-1956 4 Door Commanders, 1957 President, 1965 Wagonair, and a 1952 - 4 door).
The following is the obituary.
