My Father worked for the Eskimobile Company in Almena, Wisconsin in the late 20's & 30's building Eskimobiles (That is not the vehicle pictured here). There are a few restored examples in Wisconsin & Minnesota. (I am on my laptop & don't have photos available now). They sold several to such places as Russia, and I have photos of the entire vehicle crated awaiting shipment. Later they built "Stiltmobile" conversions for various autos for traversing muddy roads. Both Eskimobiles and Stiltmobile conversions were popular with rural mail carriers back in the day.

There is a dedicated snowmobile chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America. Most of the members reside upstate New York and New England.

I have seen at least a couple of similar units based on a model A. Someplace have a 35mm print of one at a parade.
Edit: this thread reminded me of the old Santa Claus cartoon from the 70s with claymation animation. Fred Astaire as the mailman and narrator in the opening scene is driving this snow car:
