Out of the 100+ cars that I have owned, many were neat cars, not just average transportation. I have also experienced many other unusual cars including V12 and V16 models.
My interests/desires change with age. If I won the lottery, I would buy a new Bentley Continental GT. In fact, this week, I bid over $39K on a low mileage used one (2006 model). They had a W12, but now have a V8.

Hausdok, if you had bought that toyota you probably would sold it in the 80's when value first skyrocketed, and would have none of that money left today, wishing you had kept it to sell for half a million today. And even if you had it today it would be so hard to sell.
My personal favorite *** car is the 1971 nissan skyline GTR, it's just so mean.

Your probably right. I'd toyed with the idea of building a reproduction ala the AC Cobra copiers, but just never got serious with it. It shared headlights and some chrome with the Toyota 800 sport. A DOHC M series engine wouldn't be that hard to come by and the body could be laid up by hand from fiberglass. Instruments are readily available because they didn't use stock instruments. Lots of detail needed though and reproducing that isn't that easy when you don't have a ready supply to photograph and scale every square inch of.

You know if you had good fibreglass skills and say an 70's/80's corvette it wouldn't be hard to make the body, and thats what counts. The fancy electric stuff would be hard to make, but not impossible.

yeah, back around 5 years ago - when i was visiting the Corvette forums - there was a guy in florida that was building one off a C-3 platform. i don't know what happened with that.

see if y'all can count all the "modern" tech that was on that mako video, which had never (or rarely) been seen before!

                          Whoah!

That guy has got some serious skills. More importantly, he's got the innards of a 2000GT just sitting there waiting to be photographed and measured in minute detail.

Hot Wheels is making a Toyota 2000GT.
This site shows it as a treasure hunt which will be impossible to find in the stores but there's a basic version out there too.
Boom. Ever since we began reporting on Hot Wheels’ Renaissance of classic Japanese cars, there’s been one that collectors clamored for more than any other — the Toyota 2000GT. Well, you…

For me, it would be the Studebaker Sceptre in the SNM.
