Are you saying mayonnaise and Miracle Whip are the same or the brands of each?

I believe Miracle Whip is technically called a salad dressing. I much prefer mayo on my sandwhiches. Usually I try to use either Hellmans or Dukes Mayonnasise.

                Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise was prepared table-side in Belgian restaurants, when I was there in the '70's. A waiter would do the ceremony. It's worth learning how to prepare real, fresh, mayonnaise.
It's not intended to be consumed in large quantity; unless you want to clog your arteries.

As a kid in the 60s, all we ever had was Mirachle Whip. To me it WAS mayonnaise..pretty much interchangeable. But experts say there is a difference. Who knew?
My wife buys both occasionally...mayonnaise for specific recipies.

BTW: the only cheese we had was Valveeta...unless mom was making sandwiches for a long drive. Then she'd get real cheese (probably since dad was going to eat them...he was from a farm town in Wisconsin and I can't imagime him eating Valveeta).

I can say with absolutely unquestionable certainty that Miracle Whip or anything like it has NEVER been in my mothers or my refrigerator.

So they sold it. Doesn't matter because (1) that's what my mom fed me when I was a kid, and (2) "version", my fat behind! Spin Blend tasted great while Miracle Whip made me throw up.

The 2 {MW and Mayo} are used interchangeably by some folks. I personally find MW too sweet and don't prefer it. I use plain old Best Foods real mayo. But every once in a while my wife will make REAL homemade mayo, yes she knows how to that, she is from Chile and they only use homemade fresh mayo on their cold Lengua or Ablonge'....cold beef tongue or abalogny shell fish.

What I meant is they are in the same category of salad dressings. I thought you were saying you saw no difference between them and mayonnaise. And I have heard people say that. As far as Spin/Blend vs Miracle Whip I have no idea as i have rarely tasted either.

To me, there is a real difference between real mayonnaise and Miracle Whip. In my house only mayonnaise is allowed, typically Hellmans or another "name brand".. Haven't heard of Dukes, but would be happy to try it.
