It would be fun to get a late model Dodge/Ram and badge it as a Fargo.

I believe Sterling was dropped right after M/B sold off Chrysler. I liked the grille on their 1/2 & 3/4 ton pickups.....looked like they could have been Champs.

Sterling calls for a whole new thread. Short story, Daimler used an inactive name that Volvo-GMC owned to rename the large commercial truck division they bought from Ford. But it's way better than that. You really need to go googling on your own to get a feel for it.

The Sternberg had its name changed during WWI to avoid anti-German sentiment while they built Libertys. They were a pioneer in the use of "high-speed" (high RPM) engines, and one of the last to use chain drive. They owned LaFrance. They sold out to White in 1951. I'll bet you can't find a single name in US big trucks (including Peterbilt!) that didn't "pass through" Sterling at one time -- either owning them, owned by them, or spun off in one way or another. What an industry we used to have here!
