    Any interest in a 2003 Olds Aurora I have for sale?

    2003 Oldsmobile Aurora Final 500 for sale. 4.0 (Cadillac Northstar) V8. All Final 500 Auroras were painted dark cherry with tan leather interior and almost all the options as standard. This one's paint is original, with a couple issues. The interior is excellent. The trans was replaced with a GM Reman trans at 100k by a local Chevy dealer. Mileage is now 137k. I have new rotors and pads for all 4 wheels; I may get time to install them, or I may not. The late Oldses handle much better than one might think. GM was casting Olds to be more of a sports sedan than Buick. This should be a good deal at $3000. The pics below are off the web.

    That's ironic, I just saw a champagne-colored Aurora leaving my hometown grocery store today and I thought to myself that it has been a long time since I have seen an Aurora. Your car is a beauty! I especially like those wheels.

      Are you the original owner/any more pictures/details/CarFax anywhere else?
      MPG? (don't laugh at this question; I know its an 8--my '05 XJ8 L gets 32 on the road)

        The pix are of a 2003 Aurora Final 500 I picked off the web. Mine is identical of course, but will need washing and waxing to look that good. It isn't perfect but is a good car with no rust and original paint. I think the styling of these is beautiful and it is a nice handling car, ,and very comfortable. Gas mileage is 20 local to high 20s trip. I have always used Mobil 1 in it. I bought it used 8-10 years ago. It would be still in service, but the wife wanted something newer with a backup camera. (She had almost backed into an old lady in a wheelchair who had stopped right behind her car.)

        I also have an identical parts car.

        I'll write up the details and photograph the car in a few days.

          I still have both. I have been too lazy to install the new rotors and pads I have for the car (all 4 wheels). I like Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads, so that is what I bought for the car. The new rotors are from NAPA. If interested I can provide more info and pix.

            The following is a quick (1/2 hour) writeup of everything I can think of at the moment. I'm sure I will think of a few more items, both good & bad over time.

            2003 Oldsmobile Aurora Final 500 PARTS CAR
            The car was parked 8-9 years ago not because of any major problem, but because the cam covers leaked oil, and, with 272,000 miles, it looked like it was going to nickel and dime me to death. When parked the (original) engine ran well, the transmission shifted perfectly, and it drove like one of these should. GM was re-positioning Olds to be more of a driver’s car, so the handling of these is much better than a Buick of the same year. These Auroras were nice cars, both in handling and comfort.
            The good:
            • I am the second owner. The first owner (in NJ) was a traveling salesman.
            • Original owner stated that he replaced the trans. with a new GM trans. about halfway through the mileage. The fluid looks good.
            • Car has original paint except the front bumper and a spot on RF fender. Paint has degraded due to sitting outside on asphalt.
            • Radio worked.
            • All Olds Aurora Final 500s were fully loaded with all options except Bose stereo, block heater, sunroof, and CD changer. This car has a sunroof.
            The bad:
            • When I last started it ~5 years ago the engine ran very roughly. The owner’s manual states that running in that condition can cause serious harm to the engine.
            • Driver’s seat heater is non-operational. Right one worked when last tried.
            • Self-leveling is non-op (I believe). This system levels the back of the car.
            • Power windows are ???
            • Sunroof is taped up due to a leak. I have kept two buckets of DampRid in the car.
