I witnessed a 1927 Tri-Motor land on a grass runway at the Milaca Airport back in 2008. It was thrilling to see the big plane land on the small runway.

As noted on the side of the cockpit, these are the various dignitaries that flew this particular plane.

I rode in one at the Oshkosh EAA fly-in, great ride.
I like the Ford Flex and with its slab sides with the four horizontal indents it always reminds me of the Tri-Motor.

It may have been this exact airplane (C-1077) that you rode in, as it has been to Oshkosh.

There was one here at the Ocean county airport N.J. last summer , I'm assuming it was at the Ocean-Aire shop as they do a lot of Vintage work , I saw it taking off and a few days later flying over our house , Ed

I saw the Ford Tri Motor at Harrah's in Reno around 1975(?). It look like a picnic on wings with the wicker seats. I also remember watching on the History Channel (before it turned to c r*p) about the DC 3. They brought up the Tri Motor, as well as German air craft. The DC 3 was smooth flying plane for the time, but the engine on the front of the tri motors had vibration transmit through the fuselage and that helped doom the Ford Tri Motor as well as the depression. Still, I would like to take a flight in one.

Very neat! The town next to mine has a hangar that was built by Henry Ford and designed by Albert Kahn in 1927. A few years ago they were selling Tri motor flights there and they kept going by my house with one. I guess I could've got a flight. Oh well. Maybe they 'll do them again soon.
