  • Car Spotting in an old movie

I happened to be flipping channels today and I got to the part when I saw a car that almost never has appeared in a movie. It was called "The Crystal Ball" made in 1943, starring Ray Milland, Paulette Goddard, Cecil Calloway and William Bendix. The thing that caught my eye was the car Ray Milland was driving.

Yes, that's right a CROSLEY. It was in several scence including a crash scene. I don't know of any other movie that has a Crosley featured. The car was slightly modified in the film that the door posted were removed like a true roadster.

I assume that the movie did not include a car chase. If it had, it would have been a very slow car chase.

Here is the entire movie: The Crystal Ball (1943).avi - YouTube

The car appears at 38:10-41:15 and also 1:05 -1:08. A few moments after that there was another accident with a bicycle built for two and a truck. It appears the bike is faster than the Crosley!
