  • 1969 Jeep Gladiator J-3500

From Hagerty Insurance, a customer's Jeep pickup. Brook Stevens did a nice job of designing this, it would have looked very nice with Studebaker badging.

I am not a fan of the current Gladiator. It's styling is bland (ugly) and the bed too short. If FCA were to offer a new truck that looked just like the original Gladiator, I would consider purchasing one.

          Brent,
In fact this winter while in Arizona I saw (first ever for me) a J4500 (circa 1970) which was factory equipped with a Buick 350CID. We never had those in Canada, only AMC powered.

The Alberta Department of Fish & Wildlife had some in their fleet around 1969/70. I've ridden in one that was assigned to my former neighbor who worked for that government department at the time. As I recall, BC's equivalent department was using Land Rovers at the same time.

Man... I love J-Trucks. They are awesome at what they do.

I had an '87 Wagoneer for a spell and loved it... but it hated me Story for another time, though.

Im sure someone will create a retro-version front-end grille for that. Jeep owners love modifying their vehicles.

They did have a retro Gladiator concept back in 2012 which I really like (though I still prefer the original). It even used the 'cab' of an existing Wrangler.

That Jeep (from the original post) is awesome! Love those! Nice gift from the owner's son. Wow!

Great looking truck. Most I saw had Tonka stamped on the tires!
(Maybe that's why I like them so much)

The windshield rake seems more laid back than its contemporaries and those thin A-pillars would give great visibility.
Then again, that may be accentuated by the roof "visor" and the perpendicular vent windows.
