Looks like the A/C and heating bills might be a bit "lofty." Maybe if it came with a riding stair lift.

The Dayton area comes with something else, real seclusion.

          Panama.
You can live high on just your social security there. It's beautiful. The canal is a hoot to watch in action. There is plenty to do and see there. The people are wonderful.
What more do I need to say?

language spoken, medical facilities, cost of insurance to replace Medicare, hassle to get in and out of the US to go to Studebaker events and visit relatives, climate, cost of utilities, etc.

"hassle to get in and out of the US"

We're talking about Dayton, WA not Canada or some other country. " located in the southeastern part of Washington State, nestled in a valley 1600 feet above sea level. Situated at the confluence of the Touchet (Two-she) River and Patit Creek"

                Stedegary,
No language barrier. Everyone speaks English down there because of the number of Americans there left over from when we operated the canal.
Lots of great medical facilities there including Gorgas Hospital which is right on the border between Panama City and the canal zone.
                Your medicare is good there.
A valid passport works all day.
And, I think there are some Studebaker people down there.

Please reread. My comments were relative to Panama (the country), not Washington (the state).

Sorry Gary, glossed over the "Panama" reference. I meant no disrespect.

I didn't even consider "disrespect". I just figured that you read/scanned the topic too quickly.

My dream retirement place would more likely look like this villa in Greece
