  • '47 M16 Farm Truck

    I couldn't resist.

Dr Cade bought it a few decades ago from Vern Ediger. Odometer shows 32,000 miles and that's probably actual. It's just a well kept Kansas farm truck.

It needs some TLC from being dormant for a while, but it'll be fun.

Beautiful truck. I don't know my M series trucks that well. Is that a 1 ton or 1 1/2?

I think it's a 1-1/2 ton. This one is the shortest wheelbase offered, 128". They were also available with 152" and 195".

Nobody here can remember the last time it was used, but it does have a dump bed. It's a cool little work truck.

        M16 was considered to be a 1.5-ton. The M17 was a 2-ton.

A true thing of beauty. I can sure see where my US6 got it's good looks and proportions.
              Congratulations.

Steadily getting maintenance taken care of. I mounted new tires on the rear axle and the brake job is almost finished. I also ditched the bling that kept the grille hidden.

It's on the road. And it drives like a 1940's farm truck.

                    I absolutely love it.

Stunningly gorgeous. No wonder you couldn't resist. Congratulations on a unique find. Have you considered adapting the opening windshield like on my US6? You would then have air conditioning!

If I could find all of the parts in good shape, I might do it. I've always wanted an M truck with a swing out windshield.

Well, as they say, Kansas in the front, Florida in the back - or something like that. Very nice.

                              Matthew,
Did you see my post regarding David Freiburger(formerly of RoadKill) as it was out in the dry west and I noted a US6 somewhere (Possibly New Mexico)?
Perhaps a little digging would prove fruitful.
Good luck and keep us posted.
