    Hello Everyone,
Just picked up this '62 Daytona, it's a factory 4 speed 289. Very solid body, not much rust, but has some roof damage, regards, Cus Click image for larger version

One of my favorite Studebakers. ‘62 Daytona with a 4 speed. I had several over the years, including a couple of daily drivers.

Here is a copy of the build sheet. It's going to be a big job, took me 3 years to do the Hawk, I think this one at least that, maybe a bit more, Click image for larger version

The floor looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

Looks like a pretty good start. My '62 has 26K original miles. If you need any reference photos - let me know. Looks like your car might have originally had a taupe interior. And our cars were made two days apart - you have round holes for the oil and amp light?

That's something! 2 days apart! I'm pretty sure it was 2 tone blue interior, someone has covered the front buckets cheaply.

The TA on your production order stands for taupe. For a blue interior, it would have BL. Without the V - the inserts were cloth.

It's had the floor pans replaced with used ones, needs a bit of finishing, but not bad

Also, it came with a '56 289 that needs a re-build, I would prefer a full flow block, if anybody in Australia has one, could please PM me,

              regards, Cus

Early 62's used the partial flow block. Full flow blocks came later in the year, possibly around april 62. My 62 Daytona has a full low block, matching numbers made in june, 62.

Why is it that post #3 shows a Blue front end, Black rear Lark with a Blue Interior
Must have been a seriously Bright Blue Sky that day !

It is interesting to me having seen many dozens of these P.O.'s that BOTH of these Oct. '61's have Optional ACC. #72, AC-3232 "RAD"
I have to think it may not be a Radiator, as H.D. ones were not that common.

My 1961 Accessory Price Book "F" only goes up to AC-3100's so I can't find out what that is, but it certainly is Not common !

Yes, it's just the reflection on the hood, but interior ie. door cards have been swapped out at some stage

Yes, per the production order, looks like it had a taupe interior color originally.

The car came to me with most of the interior missing apart from the bucket seats. I found a better steering wheel and had a pair of NOS door trims in blue which I added. The rear seat cushion and backrest have different covers but the seat frames are correct for this model. Original interior colour was Taupe (grey/brown). It does have a matching set of wheels which will suit a disc brake conversion unlike our locally supplied ROH rims. Finding a full flow 289 locally should not be difficult.

                        Chris.
