Finally a break in the weather! They got the color coat of stucco on today. I am still waiting to here when they will start on the interior. The exterior is now just trim paint away from being finished. The interior only needs mud, tape, texture, paint, and finish electric. Then I can have the floor coating put in, and install my wood burning stove. I am really starting to chomp on the bit for final sign off!

The tape and mudding are almost done. The texture will go on next. Then primer and paint. With our overnight temps well below freezing, I have been running a propane heater overnight each night to keep the inside warm. This way the mud will cure properly to avoid cracking in the future.

The floor coating , stove, and interior chimney are all that's left. Final inspection by the county should happen before the end of next week!

If you look close you can see the planetary alignment in the sky! Coincidence??? I think not!

                    Thanks, I’d missed that.
                    Definitely one to frame!

This week I got the floor coating put in. I am really happy with the results! I decided on a solid color without the "sprinkles". With the sprinkles added, and you drop a small screw or washer, it becomes impossible to find (at least with my old eyes). With one solid color, you can see it instantly. The one drawback is caution needs to be used with liquid spills, or walking in the build with wet shoes from the snow or rain.

I got the backer board for the wood burning stove installed before my back told me to stop working. Hopefully I can get the stove and interior chimney installed tomorrow. We will see what the body will let me do.

That's just beautiful, but I am surprised that fully lined with Sheetrock probably 5/8" Fire Resistant walls and ceiling, and Stucco coated
outside that it would just go up like that, something got Really Hot to ignite the Frame.

That is really cool that they rebuilt it exactly as it was, of course less the contents.

Lots of Houses are not built THAT well.
Here in Wash. you almost Never see ANY Stucco, like where I am from in Calif.

We passed final inspection this morning by the county!! Shop 2.0 is officially open! As soon as my back heals up, I can start moving in. One week shy of 11 months since the fire. The Ryobi cordless battery and charger that caught fire was on a wooden bench. Once the bench caught fire, it got through the sheet rock and went up the wall.

I got the first signs up today. I had to move very slowly and deliberately due to my back, but managed to get some stuff done. I told Jerry Draffkorn this would be the first thing that would go up in shop 2.0, and I owe him a huge thanks for giving me this banner. It came out of my grandfather's Studebaker dealership in Crystal Lake, IL. Thanks, Jerry!!!
