  • The Dusky Champ

My 1963 T Cab Champ I got from John Dusky is shaping up. I try to do a little every day and often the task is a new adventure to learn.

I'll keep you in mind though most of my parts are complete the things I need are usually the first to rot away such as my heater valve that looked salvageable but crumbled in my hands. I'm fixing the heater cores cracked flu now and will use a cable valve from napa for now. The Champ is a fun ride once I got the overdrive to work so it keeps up with traffic.

Look for a heater valve that is correct but not necessarily working - it can be rebuilt. I got mine rebuilt by a fellow in Wisconsin - he does great work.

Thanks it has been rewarding to work out tasks that required learning a skill I did not know. The old timers would say if man built it then man can fix it.

Looks great! Always feels good to work on something, and be able to admire the end result of your labor. Enjoy driving it.
Tom Senecal Not enough money or years to build all of the Studebakers that I think I can.
