Hard to see in the photo (but obvious in person) but a previous owner left a bunch of white paint on parts of the dash and on the radio and plate. I was able to clean it up a bit.

    Here it was.

The Lark was obviously owned by someone named Bruce in the past. He perhaps went to Las Vegas. The two sides of the key chain are separating.

Perhaps the car should be known as Bruce.

Took it for a short ride.

      Speedometer doesn't work.
      Transmission still noisy.
      Brakes work ok.
      Steering feels decent.
      Not odd suspension noises.
Oil pressure gauge seems to sweat a little onto the surrounding wires. It looks really awkward to deal with the gauge cluster.

        Relative to your post #30:
        1) The Y relates to the six different four door sedans, but they are all 113 inch wheelbase in 1963. Your Y6 is the Custom model.
        2) The engine was built in South Bend, IN, USA for installation in a car assembled in Hamilton, Canada. The engine was not built in Canada.

Just to let you know I found 1960 Lark 8 convertible which is now a member of our family . 10 years ago when the car was parked the new owner at that time bought the Lark with a "bad " tranny and he never drove the car . .............fast forward to March 2020 and I find the car , get her running well and I drain and fill the tranny twice and remove the pan and clean it out . Long story short , when I adjusted the tranny linkage and the carb linkage correctly .......bit by bit the tranny came back to life and shifts pretty well . 2000 miles on this daily driver in Tampa in 10 weeks and I love this car ! Enjoy the show!

Thank you. I will attempt to fix my post. From what I understand now in 1963 it was really assembly in Hamilton.

Where did you get the instructions/values on the linkage adjustment. That actually makes a lot of sense given the noises it is making. Good to hear someone else had success on this road!

Refer all the way back to Post #4.

The '59 to '64 Studebaker Shop Manual in the Fuel Section explains how to set up the Throttle Bellcrank and Carb. reach rod to it's stop screw.
The Transmission Section explains the procedure using a 0 to 100/120 Oil Pressure Gauge to setup the Throttle Pressure Adjustment.

The very good, much needed '59-'64 Chassis Parts Catalog and the '59-'64 Body Parts Catalog are also a Huge help in understanding the assembly sequence of parts, getting the correct ones to order etc.

They come in 3 Big Book form (Pricey) and reasonable on a CD ROM Disc. all 3 in One.

On the Studebaker Flight-O-Matic version of the "tried and true", bulletproof Borg Warner Automatic Trans. the Throttle Control Linkage is not JUST a kick-down Rod and adjustment like some Makes, it totally controls all functions of the Trans. that is why it is SO critical to have it right. There is no Vacuum Modulator to tell it how much POWER it is supposed to handle.

Remember you can get substantial information about you cars “birth” through the Museum. Sometimes a copy of the original production can be found under the rear seat. The glove box may have the paint code sticker yet. I’m still trying to figure out the ‘66 dash!

Just to be clear, the dash itself is most likely original the car. Only the instrument cluster along with the gauges and switches are 1966 items.

The radio & knobs are 1962
