<s>The Vancouver Island Chapter has a tentative plan for a circle driving tour around the Saanich penisula, ferry ride to Saltspring Island and tour around then taking the ferry to Crofton with a drive through the Cowichan valley and down the Malahat back to Victoria.</s>

<s>A nice little drive of about 140 km (85 miles) with 2x30 minute ferry rides included. here are a couple of pics of the scenary on this route.</s>

    Plan revised - see below.

      Absolutely! The more the merrier.
It is a circle route, so folks could join in at any point along the way. I will update the original post once the Chapter has finalized the plans... we are a small chapter (about 40 members) and quite busy planning the Zone Overdrive Tour happening in late May, so this tour probably won't be finalized until around the end of May.

Cool, I'll see if I can talk my dad into doing it.

The Pacific Can-Am Zone NW Overdrive tour is also a "driving" event not a "show" event (not a trailer queen event[:0][}]) and they are also a lot of fun if you are free on your Memorial Day long weekend.

I have been working on trying to get him to go for around 5 months now, he is usually real busy at work, and when you don't have a drivers license its hard to go by yourself.

Dylan - You just have to talk one of the other greater Seattle Chapter members to bring you along for the Tour!

Got to be a chapter member first But I do plan on joining the north puget sound chapter this spring however. My grandfather might be able to take me though.

Well, a bit of common sense came into the picture when we realized that taking ferries on and off the Gulf Islands on a holiday weekend likely means long waits at ferry terminals and not much driving.

So, Plan "B" - looks like we may have a meet near Victoria and then another up around Nanoose Bay then both convoys will head for somewhere in the middle - maybe the tourist town of Chemainus where we'll meet up for lunch. A couple of good restaurants are being checked out to see if they'll have room for a couple of dozen Studebakers.

Well, we ended up having a nice driving tour through a number of the "backroads" on southern Vancouver Island ending up in the village of Chemainus where we had a lunch buffet (one member has suggested that we are the Studebaker Drivers and Culinary Club). Not too many Studes in attendance, but we got lots of exposure - here are a couple of pics.
