  • Hope everyone who ventured out today faired better than I.

Just 6 miles into my journey to a local comunity car show I experianced a brake failure. Fortunately I had stopped a mini mart and upon leaving I dicovered I had no brakes other than the emergancy brake. A call to AAA soon had help on the way. Next the inpection/repairs will begin.

    It looks terminal, David.

I suggest you sell the car immediately for the first $500 offer, which I hereby tender. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

    G. K. Chesterton: This triangle of truisms, of father, mother, and child, cannot be destroyed; it can only destroy those civilizations which disregard it.

Thank goodness you weren't coming to a stop light at 50 mph as it was turning red. The outcome could have been much different.

Yes, glad it didn't happen in motion.

I fixed it (loose banjo-bolt) and made it, while a little late, to my destination: Mannette Fest! (a community party located in East Bremerton WA).

Excellent outcome, and you had the best looking car there.

Definitely a happy ending. Would NOT want to see you test out that front bumper guard at speed.

Congrats on the easy fix, early determination and ultimately showing up with a terrific looking car at the show. It could have turned out way worse than a tow job.

I drove my GT Hawk from Rockaway Beach Oregon where I spent a week after the Tacoma International meet to The Dalles Oregon heading back to Fernie BC .. All went ok but the car was running rough .. The next day I made it to Spokane Washington and now Im stranded here till the dual points get sorted out on the Hawk .. Lots of great pubs and restaurants in dt Spokane though ..
