In the '40s and '50s, when these trucks were new/designed, 6'3"-6'4" was unusual. I only knew one person in the early '50s that was 6'4".

Also, many people, that are not all that tall, seem to drive with their seat far back. I have gotten into vehicles that were last driven by someone that was my height (5'10"), or shorter, and I feel like I can't even get to the pedals correctly. I like to sit so that my right foot is flat on the throttle, not so that I am operating the throttle with toe pressure only. I know that some people have to move the seat back to clear their gut, but I don't have that problem. With tilt wheel, I like the wheel low, but on many new cars that blocks important parts of the gauges.
I have owned four Studebaker trucks and do not see a problem with the seat other than the back doesn't give proper support.

I agree about the leg room.Ive owned two C-cabs and they are a little snug, but thier not usually driven long distances anyway. The windshield is small, the cab is narrow, but darn their pretty.
I was driving my step-daughter somewhere in the 56 Transtar one wet night when we hit a large water hole. The water sprayed right up my pant legs through the clutch and brake pedal holes. She was shocked that the old truck was actually designed this way with through the floor pedals."What can you do to fix it?"she asked.
      Wear rubber boots I said.

I am still thinking about owning a Studebaker truck, I have never had the chance to sit in a C-cab and see if my 6'3" frame will fit in one without my head touching the top of the cab or my knee's bumping the dash. I gave a Champ a try and my head rubbed the top of the cab (not cool[}]) so if any of you guys are close in height to me and own one of these trucks let me know how well you fit in it![8D]

It's that "C" measurement that worries me!
I had a '50 2R6 that I used as a daily driver for a year or two. Not bad around town, but it could get tiring on long runs. I find the Champ much nicer for longer trips. Still doesn't look as good as the C-cab IMHO.

Looks like it pretty much an agreement there's not a lot of head or leg room. But owning and driving a C-Cab is way better than driving the same thing everyone else has. I'm 6'4" and even though it's a little cramped at times. It's worth it just to have those other guys say wow! what kind of truck is that?

We have a Champ and an R and there is definately more headroom in the R . As far as comfort, my wife prefers riding in the Champ on long hauls over even our '64 Daytona !
