While I see what he did...but with all that work, the engine "should" be an LS of some sort.
      Looks like a nice job.

I'm with you too. Silver is okay but needs something to break it up. The two tone effect really takes advantage of the trim and shape. There are three things that would make it better; stick-shift, parked in my driveway and my name on the pink.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy some lottery tickets...

This car was built several years ago which might explain the use of LT rather than LS power. It looks like the builder used a single donor, a '95 Corvette, to harvest the suspension, engine, and transmission.

Hot Rod did a feature on it in 2006:

Who would have thought that a 59 Lark would sell (it hasn't yet) for $50K? Has our marque joined the big leagues?

Until I see Kevin's chopstu Lark finished, this is the best one I've seen.

I like the car, but I am not a buyer at $50K.
I wish that when people utilize eBay that they would have a true auction (even with a reserve), not just a BIN price, and find out the true market value of the car.

I would have done a couple of things different but it's a beautiful car. 50 Grand is not a bad price for a car like that. I don't think you could build it for that. Scratches on the underbelly shows how low it is.

If I owned that car I would have to change the wheels. The ones on it now remind me of the flywheel on some kind of small engine. Otherwise, it is a sharp car in its particular style.

I too think this Lark could be improved by sitting in my driveway. I remember seeing this in Hot Rod and other places a few years ago right after it was finished. I probably would have chosen to use a six speed manual transimission, but then I am sitting here drooling over something that is not mine.....unless I stop and pickup some lottery tickets on my way to a car show tomorrow and they come in as winners.

I love it.......and 50K is a bargain I think, I just spent near that for my fuel injected LT1 powered Coupe Express, it needs paint, interior, rear 4 link, bumpers, I'll be about 60K done. I do not like the wheels also--- very dated!

"The Lark shape was designed by Raymond Loewy ....."
Hardly. The Lark was the in house design work of Studebaker Chief Stylist Duncan McRae. (albeit heavily influenced by Virgil Exner's styling exercises for the upcoming 1960 Valiant, which Exner's son, a consultant to Studebaker, leaked to McRae and S-P President Harold Churchill. Thus providing them a well worked out basic design theme perfect for quick adoption to production.)
