  • Help on WW 6-123 Carb

I am cleaning up this WW 6-123 carb. As I turned it a ball bearing came out, I see in the manual a ball check but it does not make it clear where it goes. Can anyone give me direction of where this goes?

The Check Ball goes Under the Accelerator Pump.
The other one, a smaller one is under the Twin Spray Nozzles.

The Repair Kit Instruction Sheet and or the Studebaker Shop Manual are essential for repairing or rebuilding these. There are many adjustments to be checked or reset.

The WW 6-123 is the "High Choke" Model that only fits the Choke Heat Tube of the '59-'62 Intake Manifolds and Air Cleaners.

I have the manuals for this I was checking to make sure where it goes. I also realized it is missing an idle tube. This could explain a lot to why it would not run correctly. I am about ready to scrap this carb and move on to something else. It is also missing a throttle arm linkage. There is a WW model 88 for Oldsmobile available with a low choke but I could bend the choke tube to fit that.

Why not contact Dave Thibeault or one of our other vendors and swap what you have for a correct rebuilt ready to run carb?

These Stromberg WW's are great carbs if they're in good shape and adjusted properly!

But the proper carb for the '51 would be AAUB, available from T-bow.
