Ours gets lots of attention and many recognize it as a Studebaker even though the custom work done by my wife's father and uncle in 1954-5 definitely is more than just "mild." Pics in signature link.

Surprised that no one has mentioned the Kart Hauler yet.

That's the first one that popped in my head. I absolutely love that car. Got to see it at GNRS and it's a work of art. Dick did a great job on that car! My vote is Kart Hauler if you're keeping a tally.

I would choose a stock '53 Champion "K" hardtop, because, let's face it, there has NEVER been a customization of the original Bourke design that has come off better looking THAN the original design...factory or private!

I chose a Champ as they have a lighter front end, and are 'easy steering'

This car is what a factory 1958 'Packard Hawk' really should have been...and with a REAL Packard V8 under its hood...What an automobile THAT would have been!

I love the '55 President Coupe. So the body on my dream car would be about bone stock, maybe pull the bumpers in a tad. The chassis would be a square tube perimeter NASCAR type with all C-4 Corvette suspension, steering and brakes. The drive train would be a carbureted LS engine which would be backed with a 6L80E transmission and a paddle shifter on the wheel. Lastly, A/C which would freeze you out of the car~~~~~ that's all~! Oh yeah, I once saw an original '55 dash with the big Autometer gauges in it. I really liked those gauges but have never seen that picture again.

                "Sals
I believe that this was an experimental car from the Studbaker factory . done to revive the Golden Hawk hardtop in 1961.
Over the years there has been discussions about this car built at Studebaker Engineering and sold to an employee after the plant closed.
The owner offered it for sale to me in the early 70's.
He send me a picture of it.
                Robert Kapteyn"

Dang Robert, I can't even tell you how jealous I am of you. To even have been offered that car is amazing. I can't think of another Studebaker I would rather own than this one. WOW. I love this car.

                  Please forgive me, Sal?

I really don't want to be seen as this much of a nit picker, but technically would it be more correctly identified as a J/K and not a C/K?

As happy as I am with mine, if it was offered, Steve Hudson's R2 powered '53 convertible would be hard to pass up.

                      Can't argue with that choice.

Ha Ha... you're probably right about that assessment. Never thought of it like that, but sure. This one would at least have to be considered J/K cuz its not technically a full J body, but does have the J roofline on the C/K body. Perhaps it would be the L body??

Pat Can't argue with you on the 53 convert. Studebaker sure missed the boat there.

A very tasteful modification to the stock design.

                            1952 Commander 2 door. Really fine 259.

I like everything about the Kart Hauler but the very back of the roof line. I think maybe shorten the rear window and do a roof over hang like a 60's chev.

ID:	1705755 Not sure of the year of this Studebaker. I think it's around an 1898 model. Definitely upgraded from stock.

                                Duh, licence plate says 1881.
