Thanks for posting this Christophe. It's great that the Studebaker marque simply won't die and be forgotten. Kevin Smith and his associates are doing an excellent job. Did you get to the Europe meet in France? If so, any pictures?

      Hi Stu,
Yes, I went to the European meeting but for one day only. There were 53 cars. It was a small meeting by US standards but certainly the biggest one in France. I'll try to post the pictures but I still don't have an account for sharing pictures online. Some people were from Canada and USA and told me you were a nice guy (I already knew that, of course!). I met a nice white bearded guy named Sam from Alaska if I rmember well. I've just sent to Fred Fox the pictures of a 1961 Hawk assembled by D'Ieteren without fins but with an opening roof. Two Raymond Loewy's personal Avantis (the first and the last) were there too. By the way, I gained access to D'Ieteren's production records and will be able to get a rundown for the 1958-1966 period, hopefully in Autumn.
I'll keep you posted about the pictures and hope you'll get rid of the forest fires soon.
      Nice day to all.

I remember Sam and his wife quite well from the Europe meet held in the UK a year ago. He has a Wagonaire that he might be willing to sell.

There was only one Wagonaire. A nice red example but I didn't ask if it was for sale.

I doubt it was Sam's. I don't think he would have brought a car to France from Alaska.

We kind of got off the subject of this thread thanks to me. If there are any reports and photos available from last week's Studebaker Europe Meet, I'm sure there are many members who would like the information. But please start a new thread for this. Actually 53 cars make for a pretty sizeable gathering.

Nice article. Happy to see them mention the reconstruction of the Main Gate and Guard House.
