63/64 Champ Vin Numbers

I have a Champ Pickup 8E-T6 with a vin number of E7-21040. It seems like a high number for 1963, much higher than my 63 Champ. I have no title or registration. Before parting it out, I wanted to make sure it wasn't the last ever made! Any help or direction would be appreciated.

According to the TW article on Champ trucks, the first VIN for 8E7 for the '63 model year was 18,901 and the '64 model year was 21,251 so it appears to be at the end of the '63 model year run.

Justin, not knowing what's still intact ? make sure You save the Front and Rear Backing Plates "as They're 63,64 only.

Joe, The 63-64 half ton Champ brake drum shoe surface is about an 1/8" wider than the 60-62's. due to the wider brake shoes.

The 8E half-ton brakes are greatly modernized, from the suspended pedals to the brake drums. They use a lot of Lark parts and are a bolt-on upgrade (as a complete system) on earlier half-ton trucks. It would be worthwhile to save as much of the braking system as possible.
